When it comes to organising your special day you probably have lots of questions to ask us so we have summarised a few of our frequently asked questions...


Q.  I am interested in speaking to you about my event, what is the next step?

A.  Following your initial contact with us we will arrange, at a time of your convenience, to meet with our event coordinator Pamela Sweetland.  After you have told us what you need we can then advise what we can offer and give you a breakdown of the options available.


Q.  Is there a charge for the first consultation?

A.  No not at all; our initial consultations are free of charge with no obligation to partake of our services.


Q.  I am only having a small party and don't need a full silver service package.  Can I just order the food from you?

A.  Yes


Q.  We live quite a long way from you; will you travel to cater for us?

A.  Most of our business is within the East Devon area but we do cover all of Devon and most of the neighbouring counties.


Q.  Can you take care of the bar arrangements for my event?

A.  In many cases, yes. 


Q.  One of my guests is lactose intolerant and another is a vegan, is that a problem for you?

A.  No not at all, tell us what you need and we can cater for all of your guests' dietary requirements.


Q.  I am holding an event with a large number of guests, can you cater for this?

A.  We have catered for both large and small events so larger functions are not a problem for us.  Once you have told us what you require we will be able to advise you more.


Q.  Can I sample some of your food before making my mind up? 

A.  Yes, we encourage prospective clients to sample our cuisine before deciding on any menu selections.


Q.  I'm going to cater for my party myself but I don't have enough crockery for all my guests.  Can you assist me?

A.  Yes we can.  We offer crockery hire as well as cutlery, glasses and linen.


Q.  The place I wish to hold my function has no cooking facilities.  Is this a problem for you?

A.  No.  We have a large selection of portable cooking apparatus.  All we will require is electrical hook-ups.


Q.  I don't want to have a sit down meal, do you cater for more informal occasions?

A.  Yes, we offer a wide selection of dining options including buffets and hog roasts.


Q.  My event is very important to me and I want to impress my guests, can you guarantee your produce is of high quality?

A.  Sweetlands Country Fare pride themselves in providing the finest homemade cuisine produced from only locally sourced ingredients.


Q.  We're getting married in three years' time, is that too far ahead for you to consider?

A.  Not at all, we understand that such events often take a long time to arrange and are happy to discuss matters with you at your earliest convenience.


Q.  That all sounds great but I am on a tight budget can I afford your services?

A.  During the first consultation we will take into account any budgetary requirements you may have and will work around the information given to us.


Q.  After we have verbally agreed about the service I require what is the next step?

A.  We will present you with a contract which is signed by both parties.  We then can have as much or as little contact with you as you wish leading up to your event.


Q.  When do I have to pay for your services?

A.  We try to be flexible, once contracts have been signed we will require a deposit, then the balance is to be paid by a pre-arranged future date.
